Spoiler alert. I cried when the little guy dies. :(
Looks like "IDA" is going to hit the sweet-spot, and go right through the Yucatan Channel. This certainly increases the prospects we will have a November Hurricane in the Gulf. Oh Boy! If the forecast holds, this storm will do an "ELANA-Loop" over the loop, and will cause anxt all over the northern and eastern Gulf Coasts much of this week.
Happy Thanksgiving!

PS: Yes, this forecast is for the coke, SK!

Looks like Ida is starting to get her acto together again. Circulation held together well over Nicarauga and Honduras and she has reemerged. Hopefully, the SSTs and the forecast unfavorable upper winds will keep this from becoming and / or sustaining hurricane strength.
Issue with the forecast ... and I know there is not much they can do about this ... but when Ida gets in the Gulf, she is eventually going to ruin someone's day. Doesn't the 5-day forecast showing the beginning of the loop, with no amplifying information about "oh by the way, this storm has to go somewhere", give people a false sense of security? Hopefully, the Public Advisory is warning of this and TV Mets are spreading the word.
