TROPICAL IN THE GULF?

The GFS, Canadian and NOGAPS models show a tropical system in the Gulf by the end of the week. Most of them point to a system developing off the tip of Florida - and the steering currents would send most systems towards the Central Gulf Coast (which happened to be the name of the now defunct Central Gulf Coast Chapter of the AMS).

I think that not enough of the weather geeks have showed an interest in the new blog site and we need to have some input from the rest of the studs.... As for this weather babe, I believe the models have not proven themself out in this case and clearly the conditions are still not terribly hospitable for development. Now that I have said that, hellfire and brimstone in the form of some tropical system is bound to plague us! geekygirl

Thank you geekygirl. I have decided not to reply to anymore of hotlava's e-mails until he begins using the blogger. He begged you to start this site - so he should be using it. If he is afraid to put his comments out there for all to see, then he shouldn't have begged you to start the blogger.

Yes, I did mention that the models were showing something in the gulf last week, and I asked the weather studs to comment on the possibility. The weather studs came back in silence, and only now - after the fact - does hotlava comment on the fact. schadenfreude indeed!!!

Where is klingfree? Where is larster? SPEAK UP!!!

Ohhhh great buoyboy - At least we are using the blog... Larster is sequestered in a Lean Six Sigma event. You know where klingfree works and it's pretty oppressive there. Weatherstuds, takes some time to check out the blog tonight when you get home. Do you really want me and buoyboy representing the entire forum?!!??

How bout a discussion about the dry south and the continued severe weather elsewhere in the country. Is that just a result of all the hot air being pumped into the atmosphere by all our presidential candidates?? :-) geekygirl
